Do you know most influential film in world cinema

Research in Italy says 'The Wizard of Oz' is the most influential film in history of the world cinema.

Researchers in Italy have announced 'The Wizard of Oz' as the most influential film in cinema history.

The result comes from an analysis of 47,000 films to come up with a list of 20 referenced films using references noted in the online movie database IMDb.

The authors said the database is biased towards films chiefly produced in the US, noting the top 20 influential films were all made before 1980.

The 1939 classic topped 'Star Wars' and 'Psycho' which took second and third places respectively.

"It is exactly the purpose of our research on most significant movies: to find the ones that are important from an historic point of view,” said Dr Livio Bioglio, a co-author of the study, from the University of Turin.
